My Little Orchestra - Friendship Symphony No. 1 in D Minor
I feel bad for leaving this until today to listen to. And in fact, because I left it till today, Equestria Daily got ahead and posted it first, the scoundrels!
Like them, I felt this needed its own post, it's pretty darn incredible. Will this mean I'll leave it out of this week's Top 7? I don't know, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. Either way, listen to this. It's a beautiful, 20 minute long orchestration of each Mane song from Season 1 of MLP: FiM. Applejack The Engineer, you're amazing.
(Edit) I might do a full review/analysis on this later... Pretty in depth song to cover.

The Big (Not Really) Reveal

Well, I think that we may have kept you guys waiting long enough. I think that it may be time to officially reveal to you exactly what it is we're planning on adding to the site. (No, sellyme. The surprise is not free Derpy figurines.) However, I'm not going to put it here. Oh, no! You've gotta click past the page break to find out! I bet the tension is killing you!
What? It's not? Oh, well... click past the page break anyway!
Musical Analysis 14
Hello once again, everypony! For those that celebrated it, I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My family was dragging me all over the place these last few days, and none of those places had internet! (The horror! The horror!) Obviously, it's very difficult to write up a review for this site with no internet, so I apologize for disappearing right after I said that I was back.
Anyway, I've been wanting to get this one on the site from the moment that I heard it. It's the "Friendship is Magic - Brony Appreciation Medley" by NRGFORCE. He made it as one of those "500 subscribers!" videos, and it came out great. I can't believe that I didn't find this one sooner than I did!
Anyway, the review is after the break. Don't believe me? Click below!

Weekly Top 7 #8

| Vinyl, you should really stop putting fireworks in Tavi's cello. She's gonna be really pissed next time... |
Once again that time of the week has arrived when we count down the Tip Top Tunes of the week brought in by this community. Insert typical "very hard this week, sorry I couldn't credit everypony" speech here.
Really though, I underestimate this community constantly. Every week I think to myself, "surely this week the content will relax a bit. What could they possibly do?" And then, even if content does drop, I come across a newly emerging musical brony and have to factor them in too! Seriously, you guys are insane! A positive flood of content this week, and a mighty fine new episode (no song... sigh).
Check out the cream of said content after the break.

Guest Review: After Hours With Rarity - d. Notive
My older brother recently expressed great interest in this here website. He's a very wordy, and slightly hipster kind of guy. As such, when he chooses to write something, it's often very difficult to understand everything he's writing about (E.g. References to 60's photographers, obscure indie game titles, ancient Greek texts...), but I figured his style was unique enough compared to us three running the site. He drew up a review, and I thought I'd the do the ol' intellectual sod a favour and post it! Who knows, guest reviews (if they're unique and interesting enough), could become a common thing!
See if you can get every reference without the aid of a computer!

Review 16: Discord (EuroChaos Mix) ft. Odyssey - Super Ponybeat (Eurobeat Brony)
Discord is, without question, the greatest MLP villain (sorry, Nightmare Moon) the guy simply has style. Nightmare Moon had style, in a graceful and truly evil villainess kind of way, but Discord is not only stylish, he's that marvellous blend of cool, funny guy, powerful magical being, and laid back character. And yet one still gains glimpses of the true chaotic evil that lies beneath the surface. Also, he's basically Pinkie Pie if she went evil. She has power, we all know it.
Eurobeat Brony released this song a while ago, and I found the title for this review while I was deleting old post drafts. I thought I'd pick it back up again, because it's a pretty neat song!
Full review after the break, as usual.

Weekly Top 7 #7
Hello everypony! Back for another week's countdown of the finest pony tunes to be released, and this has been one mighty fine week. Not as broad a selection as last week (thank Celestia's grace; another week like last would kill my ears. So much pony!), but the quality has been right up there.
Not only the community music, but we finally got an original track from the show! And lo! Ingram said: "Let the remixing begin!" The episode itself was gorgeous, of course, and Tank is now the best pet!
This week's Top 7 after the break:
Musical Analysis 13
Hello again, everypony! After a break that was far too long for my liking, I'm finally back into the swing of making reviews! The project that I mentioned has turned into a waiting game at this point, so now I can get back to doing the fun part of this job.
Alright, this time around, the song is "Dichotomy of the Heavens" by MixolydianPony. This is his first venture into the world of pony music, and I thought that it was a good song, so of course I'd give it a spotlight here. He's just starting off, so he needs some support. If you like the song, don't be afraid to let him know!
Well, for the first time in way too long, the review is after the break!
I'm Coming Back!

Alright, this post is here for two reasons:
1) I'm finally able to make it back. The little project that I mentioned may take a bit longer before it sees the light of day, but I'm now going to get back to writing up reviews for you guys, starting with a new one later today.
2) The new episode had a brand new song! It was totally worth the wait, and I just can't wait to see all the remixes that'll undoubtedly spring forth. To all you musical bronies reading this, because I know you are, you've just been given some new content. Go make everypony proud!

Review 15: Derpy Hooves (Parody of "Jack Sparrow") - Prison ft. Derpy Hooves
Okay, I’ll admit it, Derpy is third best background pony. She’s so freakin’ adorable! She’s like silliness ponified! And when combined with the deep throated, deadpan, former-DJ known as Prison, it makes for double the hilarity!
When I found this song hidden in the depths of my musical archive, it threw me way off. I love Prison’s voice – seriously, the man makes me shudder when he speaks - and when I saw the name included one of the community’s finest Derpy Hooves voice actresses, I knew I had to give it a listen.
Oh, and you might have noticed the large lyre in the banner. We hit 10, 000 page views! In a month and a half! Thanks you all so much for your support! In fact, now we're at 11, 000, I think we'll actually plan something for when we hit 20k... Again, thanks for hanging with us and appreciating these mighty fine tunes.
Sorry for the wait, things have been busy. Have a review!

PMV Spotlight - The Stars Will Aid In Her Escape
Whoa Nelly! Do you like mmmandorinorange? Well I did, but now? I dunno, after this video, I couldn't help but feel just a little bit terrified. I got multiple requests to review this PMV, all were futile and in vain, for as soon as I watched just 5 seconds of this vid, my mind was set. (Not to discourage requests, they're great!)
I'm actually a little apprehensive of this review. I've gotten requests, my first ever requested PMV :) and just the video itself left me thinking what I could possibly write to do it justice, but by Luna, I'll damn right try.
NotACleverPony To Retire From Music Scene
Yesterday one of this community's dearest and highly talented members announced his retirement from the brony community, and the music scene.
NotACleverPony has shared with us his incredibly gripping tunes since the beginning of April this year, influencing many budding brony's opinions of the show through his music. One of the major contributions he put forth was, of course, the original For The New Lunar Republic, further instigating the great war between the factions. So... Thanks for that, pal.
All joking aside, though, his music was pretty darn inspired, and it is sad to see him go. He explains it all in his Deviant Journal post, and please don't go bugging him. He's bowing out as gracefully as possible.

Filly Vinyl Scratch is the most adorable thing alive. Go read The Sound of Equestria. It has a lot.
So, what did you all think of that latest episode? Pretty neat, huh? I just wish that one of Apple Bloom's accidental special talents had been singing! Next episode is sure to give me my musical fix, right? Well, until then I turn to you guys to compose, remix, compile and cover everything into a glorious ponified blob of sound. I tried playing all 20 songs in my special "Possible Top 7 For This Week" bookmarks folder at once. It was not a good idea.
So here we go, with another countdown of the very best tracks this week.

Poll Results #5

Huzzar! Of course the New Lunar Republic is the victor. It makes sense of course, I mean, they needed a reason to splinter from the current dictatorship in the first place right?
Although Multifish's pitch didn't help in any way; "Oooo, look at the Solar Empire, they so 'mazin. Oh and... the other guys..."
But yes, justice was upheld and credit is given where due, so have a new banner.
Thanks to all those amazing artists out there, of all sorts. I couldn't make any of these banners from scratch... Heh, Scratch.
So anyway, Multifish and I can't come up with a new poll, or at least he said he'd think about it. What do you ponies think?
Happy Luna is Happy!

Soggy Out.
PMV Spotlight - Beyond Her Tomb 3D Typography

Luna is best pony, Twilight; best Mane, greatest music pony: Lyra,
Sweetie Belle = best CMC, and filly... Carrot Top is best background pony. Why? How? She doesn't do anything right? Extra content is just so awesome, that's why. With all the pictures, comics, songs and now this, I've come to realize, Carrot Top is too adorable.
So review?

I'm Still Alive in Here
Hello, everypony. It's Sonic30 here with a little update. First of all, you may have noticed that Equestrian Rhythm has been a bit slow lately. In general, this is due to several factors, the main one being that semesters are coming to a close for the three of us, and school doesn't exactly care much about giving us extra time for pony music.
Plus, I'm also telling you that I'm taking a short break, but with good reason. Multifish and I were talking, and we've come up with something new for this site. It's a special little segment that we want to do from now on, and it's got me pretty excited. However, that means that I've gotta dive down into all the little details of making sure it's all put together. Adding that on top of my already limited schedule means that updates have become difficult to put together.
I can't tell you what the project is. (That'd ruin the surprise, you silly ponies!) However, I can tell you that Multi and I are both very excited to see it put into action. Once I've finished all of the preparations for it, it might be ready to post in as little as a week. However, that means that there'll be no reviews from me until I've finished. It'll only be about a week, but I'd still hate to leave without an explanation.

Review 14: Balloons in My Basket - FraGmen Td
This is the first of FraGmen Td's lyrical songs, and damn... I love it! It's so incredibly fun and bubbly, at least on par with Summer, if not perhaps edging slightly ahead, simply on merit of having Pinkie Pie as a backing vocalist! It's put together in a fun and interesting way, providing much amusement, and a few places that made me chuckle at Pinkie Pie's general antics.
I actually think of this as sung by more of a Pinkie Pie character, rather than The Pink, herself. She breaks the fourth wall as it is, but with a male singer, it seems a bit odd to think of this obviously masculine male voice as a bright pink mare.
Click past the review for my little deconstruction:

Weekly Top 7 #5
Another week, another Top 7, another distinct lack of official songs! I very much liked the latest episode of My Little Pony, but there was, once again, not a single song to be heard! Surely the next episode, which is about the CMC, will have a small Sweetie Belle song, right? Right?!
Oh well, down to business. I feel a bit like a broken record when I say choosing was hard this week, but it still surprises me! Honestly, you bronies really do pump out tunes like they're nothing.
This weeks Top 7 tracks found below.

Review 13: Winter Wrap Up - DJ Amaya
Right. Here's an old one. From way back in early June! I actually came across it on Celestia Radio, a place I found a lot of great tunes before the Beatles Bronies started dominating the playlist. Good, though they can be, they have a disproportionate selection of songs.
This was one of the earliest remixey remixes I grabbed, actually, and it should be apparent why it jumped out at me. It's a very upbeat song.
Review after the break, as per usual.
Musical Analysis 12
Hello everypony! It's sonic30 with more music! I admit that I've been a bit behind lately, but it won't happen again! Anyway, several factors went into choosing this song. However, there were two main ones. First, Soggy Doggy has been doing an awful lot of stuff with Luna, so I thought I'd hold up the other side, and second, the latest poll kind of requires that we support both sides here. That's right, I'm doing a song about Celestia's Solar Empire! Sorry Soggy, but it had to be done.
The song is titled "For the Solar Empire! (20% Better Version)" by DrDissonance. It's titled 20% Better Version because DrDissonance revised the original release of the song, making it 20% better.
Anyway, the review is sleeping just behind that page break. Be careful not to wake it!

Poll Results #4
So once again, I am late posting the poll results. I knew something was wrong when I threw them up on time last time. Winter Wrap Up won, as expected, but Art of the Dress was a close contender all the way through! I think one of my favourite things about Winter Wrap Up, and At the Gala, too, is that due to its unique verses and choruses, they're very remixable. Disappointed about the lack of Cutie Mark Crusader votes, though... Poor little fillies.
Edit: New poll. To whom do you owe your allegiance? The mighty Solar Empire, already proven to have not just the ability to run a country, but to run it smoothly and without error. Or the newcomers with no experience, but strong will and everything to prove?
