Musical Analysis 17

You know what I haven't done in a while? I haven't chosen a random song to toss out to you guys. This time, I decided to go with something that actually surprised me big time. I, of course, have the Pony Music Archive on my computer, which is linked on the side, by the way. Anyway, I was just messing around, listening to all of the wonderful music on Shuffle, when suddenly, an amazing song came on. It gave me pause, so I looked it up. The song being reviewed this time may not be that exact one, but it is by the same guy. Now, the reason I'm so surprised is that the guy who made this song, as well as several other equally amazing ones, has only had just around 18,000 TOTAL views on his Youtube videos. That left several of his songs at just a handful of views! I couldn't simply let that stand, so here it is!

Alright, the song is meant to be a joint theme of all six of the Elements of Harmony, and I think he did a wonderful job with his own personal style. The song opens up with some simple, slow synth voice chords, setting the mood to be calm and somehow hopeful. Before long, a piano joins in, just as slow and calm. It makes its own little addition to the piece before dropping out just as quickly as it came, allowing a string instrument to jump in in its place. There's a small moment before the piano jumps right back in, this time picking up the pace, and the mood, quite a bit. Things build, more strings come in, we're about to move on, and then... silence. A short pause fills up the song for a moment, then we come back in with the same calm melody from before. It follows the same cycle: Piano, strings, both. At the very end, the piano gets a moment to shine on its own with nothing playing behind it, and then it all comes to an end.

I can honestly say that discovering the music by ZephyrPony was a VERY pleasant surprise for me. I don't know why I'd never heard anything by him, I don't know why his view counts are so low, but I aim to fix that. He's got his own personal feeling that he manages to throw into every single one of his songs, and if you like this one, then you should definitely go check out the rest. He just simply hasn't had enough people hear his music for the talent that he's throwing out there.

By the way, I need everypony's help! One main part of why I love helping out here on Equestrian Rhythm so much is that I'm able to bring attention to talented musicians who haven't quite been discovered yet. I've done it before, if any of you remember my review of "Dichotomy of the Heavens" by MixolydianPony. However, the fact that they haven't been discovered would, of course, mean that I might not know about them! Give me links and suggestions, send me towards those Bronies who deserve more than they've been getting! Everypony deserves a little spot here on Equestrian Rhythm, and I want to be able to give them that chance!

Also, I've been considering changing the titles of my posts from "Musical Analysis" to something else that might fit better. Any ideas, guys?
