| This image is a clue for one of the songs. Guess which one! |
So, you might have noticed things have been slow around here lately. Yeah, unfortunately all of us writers are currently in the glorious conglomerate of the education system, which at certain times demands more time than we have to dish out. Things should be back to our somewhat regular scheduling after next week, but until then most of us really don't have time for much. This week was slow for music, but Sellyme can attest that it was astoundingly difficult to narrow down the standouts of the week.
This Top 7s gonna be a pretty short one, and I don't really have the time to ramble like I normally do. A lot of assignments and reports due right now.
But we charge on, nonetheless! Find the best tunes of the week after the break!
#7: This Day Aria Reprise (Space disco remix) -
Great remix of This Day. Starts with Pacman for some reason. Listen all the way through. Contains unique blends and rhythms. Great song, and only just muscled out the competition.
#6: Changeling - Alllevelsatonce
This Day Aria after This Day Aria, we have another fantastic remix of this fantastic song. Listen to it. It's good.
#5: Cutie Mark Crusaders Go Crusading (Blues Arrangement) - Music By Octavia
This music scene needs more classic rockin' blues. Having watched Blues Brothers recently, this song resonated pretty strongly!
#4: Counterpoint - Wintergreen
The Octavia and Vinyl Scratch music battle has been done before, but this particular rendition handles it in a very refined matter. The play against each pony works well with the track, rather than against it (as some other attempts result).
#3: Dashie - Nameless Warning
I first listened to this song late at night, exhausted from the SA meetup, leaning heavily in my chair. Ears glazed over from the hour or so of music catch up, this song very much caught my attention. There are plenty of sap (and creepy) stories about either lucid dreams of Equestria or a strong desire to go there, but at that one moment, as I listened to this song, it felt real... And then the awesome electronic strikes and beats kick in. If I made the Top 7 the moment I had that moment, this would be Number One. As a whole, it's still a brilliant song, and captures many themes throughout it's style shifts and brilliant builds. I might do a full review.
#2: Passing By - Peak Freak
Peak Freak is a resident brony rocker, but he's frequently passed under my radar mostly because his voice needed a bi of work. And now... Oh boy has he gotten better! This Trixie-themed, nopony with nowhere to go indie rock track is fan-bucking-tastic. Lyrics, instrumental backing, vocals, it's got everything moving in it's favour. Keep this up, Peaky! I expect more!
#1: Never Back Down (feat. d.notive and Yelling At Cats) Remix - ThatSonofaMitch
Balloon Party is released tomorrow, and you'll be able to find it immediately right here on Equestrian Rhythm, but some ponies aren't content to wait for their tunes to get out there ans ThatSonofaMitch released his contribution as a special birthday present to himself. Fantastic work on the cover, and if this is any indicator for the Balloon Party album, I think we're in for a treat.
Honorable mentions: Awoken - H8_Seed + WoodenToaster, Changelings Aren't So Bad - Neighsayer, Da Magicks - Yourenigma, Sharing Is Caring (Pinkie Pie's Special Mix) - Copy Cat.
So, now I need to go try and not get buried by my enormous work load. Hope you enjoyed the music, and all you musicians had better keep up the great tunes!
See you next week!

I attest to nothing.
