Album Release: Don't Even Trip

Hello there, you music-loving equines! Glitchhog here, with a new album release from none other than DerpyGrooves. If you're a fan of Chiptune/8-bit, Experimental and even Electronic, you'll do yourself a real favor by checking this one out. Superb mixing and excellent songwriting give way to some really great-sounding and original music, so go buy it, ponies! For $2.50, you can't go wrong, and supporting any quality artist should make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, like you've just ingested acid, but like, a sort of acid that won't kill you. Or something.

What I'm trying to say is, BUY THIS! You won't be disappointed.

Music: Jazzin' it up

Dieselpunk ponies are cooler than Steampunk ponies

It's time to kick back and relax, fillies and gentlecolts, with some mighty chill pony jazz. I've been intending to do a jazz post for a while now, but only recently had the thought that it doesn't all need to be new music. Why introduce some of the newer bronies to some of the classic tunes of the community?

Luna (Nightlife Jazz Mode) - Eurobeat Brony
Prelude To The Groove - Yourenigma
Stuck Here On The Moon - I Bring Da LULZ
Luna's Night (Out) - Jeffthestrider x Squeak Anon

Album Release: Epic Final Bosses of Equestria Vol. 1

So I think we'll be doing these more often. Posting album releases, I mean. Baschfire has come out with his third collected volume chock full of all his boss fight tracks! These songs have been rolling out from Baschfire for a while now, and it's great to see them all together. If I may use the word without it sounding overused, these tracks are often quite epic. So pull out that magically empowered sword of yours and attempt the Boss Challenge. Can you survive up to Princess Luna?

Only $5 for all ten tracks, so what are you waiting for? Go throw money at him!

PMV Spotlight - Greatest PMV of ALL TIME!

Oh wow...
When I first saw this PMV, I couldn't comprehend how I had lived at all before seeing this, glorious video. So many emotions flowing through my brain right now, it's hard to type straight.
Ok. I think I'm going to try to define the sheer majesty that is at play in this PMV, but I don't know if any of my humble, mortal words can even begin to give this divine video justice.
In Luna's name I will try!

Review 22: Sweet Apple Acres - MandoPony

MandoPony has at last released a new vocal song, and oh boy is it a doozy! There has never been enough Apple-inspired pony tracks, but that is slowly being remedied it seems. I've been a fan of MandoPony for a very long time now, and I have to say I think this is one of his finer, and yet much simpler, songs so far. It's particularly reminiscent of early 2000's rock, so it actually throws me back in time for a spin.

So let's jump right in, shall we?
Edit: Oh yeah, in before EqD

Weekly Top 7 #13

It's that time of the week, folks. The time where we count down the tip top 7 pony tracks of the week. As usual, the haul was very hard to narrow down and we have a pretty wide genre base, but it seems a fair bit of the quality this week was to be found on the electronic side of the musical spectrum.

It's been a long time since I've done one of these, so there's probably a few real gems that I've missed, but, as far as I can tell, this week's been pretty slow for pony music. Also, I typed this while watching the classic Australian film, He Died With A Felafel In His Hand, so some of the synopses are a bit short, and I was a bit distracted for a few of them, and the Top 7 was almost late, so...

Without further delay, let's roll on with the week's Top 7 pony tunes.

Guest Review: Never Back Down 3D Typography - Dragzeela

So my dear friend and long time follower of the site (and Grammar Nazi) Sellyme threw us a snazzy review for the latest typography video from the brilliant Dragzeela. I've been waiting for Selly to do a review for a while now, as he has at least a decent way with words, and I've been wanting to see what he does. Naturally, he decided to review something which allows him to blend the medium of PMV and music together.

Check out his review after the break!

Pony Mix #1 (Winter Wrap Up Edition) - DJN8

So, this fellow named the4thImpulse emailed me the other day with this here mix, and I thought I'd spread it around a bit. Mostly dubstep, but it handles well, and I think putting songs into mixes is a really beneficial thing. It makes the whole set flow much better than simply selecting the songs.

Clocking in at around 25 minutes, this set sticks mostly to the wubs, but I think this idea really has potential, and I'd love to see a few more sets in different genres. If anypony here has a school disco, a general house party, a brony meetup, or anything that needs a pony soundtrack, I think this is the man to go to. Head over to its Equestrian Beats page for the download (I really like Equestrian Beats).
As he releases more, we'll spotlight them, too.

Look past the break for the track list.

Music: Party Tiem!

Whoops, it seems we've let the posting rate slip a bit. So let's remedy that, shall we?

I'm feeling amazingly hyperactive, so have some party music! This whole thing of posting music in little chunks instead of exclusively Top 7s and Reviews will become a little more common as we progress. We really need them to deal with the huge flow of music that passes us by.

South Australian Brony Meetup... Was Awesome!

Well you can already tell who's writing this, right? Yes it's me, Multifish Soggy_Doggy! We had a brony meetup this weekend, and it was indeed awesome. Although unlike last time, I had a camera! I think I took around 109 pictures... a fair amount I guess. So let's get on with the Wrap-Up Adventure!

For those of you that aren't all that interested in our recent frivolities, there'll be music later. Promise ~ Multifish.
EDIT: Thank you all SO MUCH for getting us to 30, 000 pageviews! That's insane!

Seeds of Kindness Charity Album

So, as you might have seen over on both My Little Remix and Equestria Daily, the organisation known as Bronies For Good is running another charity album. If you are new to the community, you may have missed the last charity album they created called Smile! An album made up of 22 different songs by a multitude of brony musicians from separate genres to benefit the Children's Cancer Association. Released on the 24th of December, the album raised US$26,000 in only one month for that fantastic cause.

This latest enterprise of theirs is dedicated to the not-for-profit group Your Siblings. Specifically the building and operation of a clinic in Uganda. For more information, head over to their website here. Also, it seems they're still open to submissions for the album (find the details around here, as well as in the actual BfG website), as well as prize incentives for donations! If you can think of some art, craft, or other prize to get the ball rolling on donations, hit up their email broniesforgood@gmail.com.

The album has a planned release for around late April, so keep your eye on it!

PMV Spotlight - Return of Harmony Trailer

Hello everypony and welcome to the New Equestrian Rhythm. Are you excited? 'Cause I'm excited, I've never been so excited except for that time...
Anyway, yes. Time for my first reboot review. Haven't done one of these for a while now, so I might start with a shorter review. It begins!

Review 21: Love Me, Cheerilee

Hey everyone! Newbie columnist Glitchhog here, with a review of Love Me, Cheerilee (which, no doubt, most of you have heard by now). Quick intro before we start (a more in-depth version of which can be found on the 'About' page); I am a 19 year-old Adelaide-based Jazz/Electronic musician with a few small 'hits' on YouTube and a knack for writing (EDIT: But not HTML, evidently). I enjoy driving cars, composing music and eating poorly-priced Chinese food. Glad to meet you all! Anyway, without further ado...

Review 20: Old Hat, New Manehatten - Yourenigma

So, we decided to reopen the site, in case you didn't notice. And I thought what I'd do early on was attempt to alienate half of our viewership. That's a good idea, right?!

To do this, I grabbed the irksomely underrated Old Hat, New Manehatten song from Yourenigma. I figure experimental Pony Nujazz should be looked on by a few of you as pretty weird, huh? But, it's what I felt like listening to when I wrote this review, so it's what you get! Also there needs to be a lot more jazz in this community! And blues! And musical numbers! (I know there's already a lot) Expand the genres we've been constricted to, fellows! I can feel cool while listening to trance, but you can only feel truly cool when listening to good jazz. So get on it!

Find the full review for this snazzy little number after the break.

Equestrain Rhythm: Back in Action

Yes, we have returned! Equestrian Rhythm is back in business! And we have a mighty fine year planned for you all, packed full of pumping beats and dulcet tones! I accidentally let Soggy Doggy go all "sequel-y" over the banner, hence all the cliches.

For those of you who have just joined us; welcome to Equestrian Rhythm. The finest place on the ponynet to catch reviews, highlights, and commentaries on all the fantastic tunes to come out of this mighty fine pony community! Whether you're into orchestral, electronic, rock, pop, jazz, and almost any genre under Celestia's sun; if it's pony, we're ready to listen.

First of all, I want to thank all those bronies out there that have supported and appreciated this little old site of ours. As cliched as it sounds, we really wouldn't be here without ya'll. So thanks for that... We'll be making a few changes to the way we run and organize the site as well, hopefully allowing for an overall smoother experience. To do this we're going to need to get help from you, the community and will be changing how we post music as a whole!

Below, you can find the details of our GLORIOUS REBIRTH!

I like having a Title to click on!

Hee hee! You forgot an image again, Sonic!
What am I going to do with you?
And Happy Derpy Day!

When you see this, you'll probably realize several things:

1) Yes, this is the first post on this website in a LONG time.

2) Yes, this post was made by sonic30, who had, to all of you who viewed (and ran) this site, disappeared.

3) Yes, I am making this post because I've seen so much of the effort from the community at MLR to try and revive this site.

4) I'm not liking this idea.

5) I am LOVING this idea.
