Too bad the last Top 7 we had was so... ad-hoc.
This little gem managed to slip through the cracks last week. Whilst I never really post or review music around here, I seem to have become rather fond of this song:
I'm not much for musical lingo, being rather new to a 'proper' musical environment, but I really wanted to promote this song. So... nice, as Fluttershy would put it. Very similar to This song and a love it for all the same reasons. Just songs you can get lost in...
Oh yeh, I should probably add Selly to the Contributors...

Lesser Knowns Album Release
The folks over at My Little Remix recently put together a might shiny album for those musicians out there trying to get their name out. Lesser Knowns is specifically for those of the brony music community who aren't quite as in the spotlight as others, but still have a lot of talent. Out of the 20 tracks on this album, even I must admit to having only heard of five of the artists.
There's some pretty sweet tunes here, so definitely check it out. Click the picture to get to the Bandcamp page. (It also has a track from our very own Glitchhog!)

Weekly Top 7(ish) #23
I say "ish" because my internet has been down for 84 of the last 106 hours, and Multifish sprung this on me rather unexpectedly, so I haven't been able to listen to EVERY song this week. However, to make up for this, I decided to do something different for you guys, a (psuedo-)community voted top 7! Using a complex system involving Reddit, YouTube, Everfree Radio, and Bronies Australia, I've compiled the top 7 most popular songs of this week, and then added a few of my personal favourites and evened the data out a bit so that it's not a complete popularity contest. Hopefully the results will be nice!

Pinkielicious - BlackGryph0n
One of the most adorable, hilarious, Pinkie-like bite-sized animations to emerge from this community. BlackGryph0n has once again released an episode of the "Licious" series.
Pinkie takes the stage this time and is voiced by the Brie Faith, who is spot on in this role. BlackGryph0n's animation is once again flawlessly precise, and gorgeously detailed in its framing.
Check after the break for a message from Pinkie found in the YouTube description, because it's too cute and funny not to include. And for those of you who haven't seen the rest (Twilightlicious (the Tara Strong original) and Flutterlicious), find them as well.

Sellyme to Join Equestrian Rhythm?
With so much music being released at such an incredible rate, it's important for a blog like ours to own at least one insomniac. For that purpose, I have recently been considering hiring long time commenter and viewer of the site: Sellyme. I've tossed him the keys to the website in the past to snag those early releases (EPRBoE one example. Check the tags.), so it'd just be a bit of an upgrade for the
So what do you think? He'd manage releasing music early (before EqD!) and every now and then pop up a review. Sound good?

Epic Pony Rap Battles of Equestria #2: Big Mac vs Prince Blueblood
Well, Mic the Microphone has released the second EPRBoE, and boy is it a doozy. Featuring David Larsen and Patrick Seymour, and animated by BronyDanceParty, this is one of the best pony videos of the year, in my opinion. Here is a link to a page where you can donate money for Mic's eye operation, if you like the video that much, and for those of you who want to see the first EPRBoE, that is embedded after the break.

Weekly Top 7 #22

| Looks like Mare-Do-Well's gonna have her work cut out for her |
It's that time of the week once again, in which we delve into the very best of brony music and show off just how good this community can be at making music. This week was a rough one, as there were so many new artists to discover! And it was all so good! This Top 7 is one of my favourites, I think. It ranges from electronic to orchestral to rock 'n' roll. Definitely a good week for brony music.
This could technically be called a Top 9, as I think the two tracks listed here deserve to be part of this list.
So let's get down to business!
Music: The Upcomming Attraction & A Royal Canterlot Wedding
BassBeastJD
Yourenigma
Okay, these two were going to tie in the Top 7, but I thought they deserved their own post. That means that they won't be in tonight's Top 7, but the honor remains. I think there's a higher likelihood of them both being listened to if they're stapled to the front page, so here we are.
Yourenigma is well known for his brilliant imagery through orchestral pieces, but this BessBeastJD fellow is pretty new to me, and I like where he seems to be going.
First up, BassBeast's take on The Great and Powerful Trixie's performances in this orchestral selection is fantastical and well worth a listen. Moving from exciting, showboating antics, to being left out in the cold. While there are times in which his amateurish nature shows, the presence and ideas brought through this music are simply marvelous. The cheering and crowd input only makes it seem more relateable to Trixie. There's going to be a fic based on it, and we'll post that when it's up too.
In opposition to Trixie, we have Yourenigma's latest orchestral track (after a fair while) which covers many of the themes and moments in the finale of Season 2 of My Little Pony. Much shorter than BassBeast's track, it manages to muscle as much feeling and emotion into its 8 minutes as is ponily possible. The Chrysalis moments are gloriously built up, the romance aspects are beautiful, and the crescendos are a blast! Listen all the way through for a brilliant mental adventure!
Find the descriptions by each artist after the break. They go into more detail than I will. But more importantly, LISTEN TO THEM!

Melody Mares Pt. 1
This was something I intended to post a while ago, but simply didn't get around to. A mighty fine little radio play, in which Applejack gets Twilight to cast a spell on her to give her a better singing voice. It's only short, so check it out. Great voice work, and an amusing little story.
Expect me to post the rest of the episodes as they're released.

Music: Orchestral Thematic
It is sometimes said that I am biased towards orchestral pieces in this community. Do you guys think that's true? Or are the orchestral movements I select for Top 7s, etc, actually worth the time?
Either way, PonyVisation released a 70 minute pony-themed improvised piano piece today, and I figure that's enough of a reason to put up a Compilation post. Find below piano covers of songs from the show, pieces inspired by aspects of MLP, and original ideas brought to fruition through the wonder of Friendship is Magic.
{1} Boundless Equestria - PonyVisation
{2} Smile - Deathaura40s
{3}Sunrise Over Equestria - CommandSpry
{4} Luna, Please Fill My Empty Sky - PinkiePieSwear
Find them all after the break. They're all pretty fantastic! (Especially the last one!)

Music: Breakin' it Down
Oh Spike... One day you'll be a famous rapper like Twilight.
Well, I think we should really be picking up the rate of posting over here, as school is finally winding down. I've got a bit of a backlog as far s music goes, because there is a LOT of tunes that I think need to be shared out there. We'll start this week off, however, with some a bit of rap. Below, you can find a pretty sweet variety of lyrical maestros, both popular and disappointingly less-known, spinning narration and abuse.
{1} My Special Somepony is a Rapper - Gryfinz
{3} Sahar - IBringDaLULZ & Cyril
{4} What A Twist - Temporal Walker
Find them all after the break. (I strongly advise #3!)

Music: Canon Track Remixes
No Top 7 this week, fillies and gentlecolts. Ever so sorry, and this should be the last time for a while that this happens, but circumstances and such can be a pain sometimes. (Of course, watching the Great Southern Slam Roller Derby Championship over all three days of the long weekend doesn't help...)
However, I wouldn't want you to have a Sunday evening without a bit of a pony music fix, would I? As it's been a few months now since Season 2 closed, I thought I'd go with the rather broad theme of remix-style remixes of tracks from the show. We've got a bit of mash-up, trance injected, and your basic shuffling of rhythm and timing.
{1} Flimflamdro - Psycosis91
{2} ~*Smile*~ (Remix VIP) -
{3} Clap Your Hooves (And Do A Little Shake) - Silva Hound
{4} Sharing is Caring Pinkie Pie's Special Mix) - CopyCat
Find all of these after the break!

Another Fruitful Meetup

Friendship is Best Magic!
It seems I am now resident Meetup-Pony. Level Up!
So on the weekend we had another meetup down is South-Australia. When you gonna show off a meetup Sonic?
Anywho, it was pretty fun, and bucking cold! We hit up the usual spots, freaked out over some McDonald's Ponies and threw away all our money, as Bronies tend to do. ALL the details below that there pagebreak!

Balloon Party: 100% No Feeble Cheering Released!
After much mixing, composing, and fighting of lions the epic Balloon Party Album has at last been released!
For several months now, this Luna-sized album has been in production, and at last it has been released through Bandcamp at a "Name Your Price" system. All proceeds gained go towards getting these hardworking musicians to Bronycon this year, so dig deep people! A lot of work was put into these tracks.
The album itself contains music from such greats as Makkon, Art Attack, Froozogz, Jackle App, StormWolf, The Living Tombstone, Aviators, Sci, Alex S and PinkiePieSwear... The list goes on, and doesn't just include the big names. It's impossible for me to list them all. Go find the Bandcamp page here, and see for yourself.
This is the most anticipated, action packed, hard hitting albums in My Little Pony history. Balloon Party: No Feeble Cheering is simply put: Astounding. Go download it.

Top 8 PMVs ~ May

Hello everypony, yes I am still alive! With all my abrupt school-work and a certain Indie-Game sale on, I've been fairly busy and unfortunately not posting as often as I should. It should all be good now, after watching this month's PMVs I was reminded that I'd forgotten how fun and exciting it can be seeing all those awesome videos. So with a revitalized vigour, lets jump into the Top 8 PMVs for May!

| This image is a clue for one of the songs. Guess which one! |
So, you might have noticed things have been slow around here lately. Yeah, unfortunately all of us writers are currently in the glorious conglomerate of the education system, which at certain times demands more time than we have to dish out. Things should be back to our somewhat regular scheduling after next week, but until then most of us really don't have time for much. This week was slow for music, but Sellyme can attest that it was astoundingly difficult to narrow down the standouts of the week.
This Top 7s gonna be a pretty short one, and I don't really have the time to ramble like I normally do. A lot of assignments and reports due right now.
But we charge on, nonetheless! Find the best tunes of the week after the break!
